In order to use your TRAKTOR KONTROL device as a standard MIDI controller with other applications, you need to switch your device to MIDI mode via a specific button combination on your controller. Activating MIDI Mode on your TRAKTOR KONTROL DeviceĪll of our TRAKTOR KONTROL devices communicate with TRAKTOR using our own proprietary NHL protocol. Make sure your TRAKTOR KONTROL drivers are correctly installed and the device is properly connected to the computer. Also you can see that it is not blinking the sequence like it is in the first video. This article explains how to set up your Native Instruments TRAKTOR KONTROL device as a MIDI controller for Ableton Live. I am also able to manipulate the sequence in the software, but when I push buttons on the F1 nothing happens. I made a second video of it running as a VST in Ableton. I quickly tried turning remote off in Ableton preferences.nothing different (assuming you thought Ableton was seeing it as a scene controller, rather than an instrument or something).īut I think you might be on to something with this -> "It would probably help you if you recorded what the "sequence blink" data could be made of. This is Reaktor in standalone running the sequencer ensemble. Okay so I am posting a video thinking that might help, or at least keep things rolling. Have you looked over the manual on those points? Maybe it could be something inside Reaktor that is not on by default when running as a VST. It would probably help you if you recorded what the "sequence blink" data could be made of. Stromkraft wrote:Well, you have Remote on so it's not that simple. Again, in standalone Reaktor it just works perfect. There should be a one to one relation between what is pictured in the software representation of the controller (in this case the purple squares) and what is lit up on my actual controller. What I am not getting (that I do get within standalone reaktor) is my F1 blinking the sequence. In fact I can midi learn buttons within the VST pictured above no problem. What I want to do is have it control parameters within a VST. You just hit the midi button top right and do a midi learn for each button - for that matter, you just run a mapping. Make a screen dump of the MIDI settings.Īs I understand it, I do not want to use my F1 as though it were a push controller (enabling scenes, mapping the dials to control track volumes, etc.). But you don't show us how you have added the F1 as a controller. If you have the talent, help us out, as getting this going would be analogous to finally getting a set of strings for a guitar I can't play. I emailed a local producer, for example, (an Ableton live instructor or whatever) and I could not get past his secretary (LOL). It seems like the people who could help believe their are others that ought to be figuring it out and the challenge is somehow below them. The problem has been hanging in the air almost two months. Unfortunately the author of the software as well as other users are stumped. I have posted this question on the sidebar of the page where you can download the sequencer program in the Reaktor Community Forum. It is almost as though I can send midi to ableton, but ableton is not sending midi to my controller. But when I run Reaktor as a plugin in Ableton, the lights don't blink the sequence. Namely, the lights on my Kontrol F1 light up the sequence in standalone. The step sequencer program does run this way except I loose some functionality in Ableton that is preserved when I run Reaktor as a standalone application. Normally anything I can run in Reaktor, I can also run in Ableton by using Reaktor as a plugin. Being a House music guy, I can do some nice live breakdowns. This means I can run multiple channels through a 16 step sequence and create and reorder layered drum rhythms on the fly. Someone in the Reaktor community has created an awesome program that allows a person to use a Native Instruments Kontrol F1 as a sequencer in Reaktor. I have hit a wall in my performance setup and would be grateful to figure this out.
